The last in date was carried out last Monday in close cooperation with the quota of the Djibouti armed forces (FAD) under the command of the Abdul-Wasac chief of police who is based with the Harbi camp in the area assajog. The customs officers and the soldiers thus intercepted a new cargo of khat of smuggling coming from Ethiopia. This one was made up of more than two hundred (203) bags of thirty kilos each one which were the subject of a seizure in a first phase. Such quantities of khat were destroyed according to the standard procedures into force with the country. The Djibouti customs and their ministry in charge intend to maintain the pressure against the smugglers of khat who make an unfair competition with the actors of the formal market.
